  • The Sheriff is also Director of Emergency Services for Red Lake County

Red Lake Falls Fire Department

The Red Lake Falls Fire Department has 24 volunteer firemen.  They meet the 2nd Wednesday of every month and have drills the last Wednesday of the month.

 

Chad Schmitz is the Red Lake Falls fire chief.  Assistant fire chiefs are:  Mike Wavra, Tim Carriere, and Joel Schultz.

Red Lake Falls Volunteer Ambulance Service

The Red Lake Falls Volunteer Ambulance Service is staffed by volunteer EMT’s 24 hour’s per day, 365 days a year.  They are a Basic Life Support (BLS) Ambulance Service serving the Western part of Red Lake County (West of State Highway 59).  The ambulance service  averages approximately 150-175 calls per year, running the range from minor medical assists to major trauma.

The Red Lake Falls Volunteer Ambulance Service has variances for a semi-automatic defibrillator and the use of 4 relatively new BLS drugs:

ü      Epi-Pen: for use with allergic reactions

ü      Glucose shot: for use with diabetic patients

ü      Albuterol treatment: for asthma/breathing difficulty

ü      Nitroglycerin spray: for patients experiencing chest pain

 

The Red Lake Falls Volunteer Ambulance Service also has 2 Road Rescue E-350 Pro-medic (Type III) Ambulances; (1998 and 1992 models.
